Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, one of the bigger questions was whether or not the Las Vegas Raiders would select a developmental quarterback in the later rounds. While Geno Smith eliminates the need for a new signal caller in the near future, his age was cause for concern in the eyes of multiple analysts. One Cam Miller later, that question got an answer.
Yes; Sin City was adding a quarterback by way of April’s draft.
Miller, a championship winning quarterback, led North Dakota State to an FCS National Championship in 2024. The quarterback he faced in the big game? His now-teammate Tommy Mellott. Mellott, who competed with Miller for the annual Walter Payton Award, besting the North Dakota State signal caller in the process.
It’s no secret why Miller was chosen as a finalist for what’s essentially the FCS version of the Heisman Trophy. With 2,873 passing yards alongside 28 touchdowns and four interceptions, the 23-year-old frequently conquered opposing defenses. He was able to complete 72.4% of his passes in the meantime; the second-highest mark in the FCS among all quarterbacks with at least 200 passing attempts.
Add 515 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, and you get one impressive stat sheet.
In the playoffs, Miller was even more impressive. He tossed five touchdowns with zero interceptions, completing over 76% of his passes. Altogether, Miller was responsible for an impressive quarterback rating of 142.7.
Is Miller primed to be the Raiders’ quarterback of the future?
Well, that’s a question you can answer yourself. And you can do so by watching our full Cam Miller film breakdown and scouting report that both tells and shows you everything you need to know about Sin City’s young signal caller, found here.
